The Pine Lodge on Whitefish River is located just blocks from Downtown Whitefish and positioned directly on Whitefish River. I had the pleasure of staying here a couple nights before zooming to the airport that’s just 15 minutes away. It’s safe to say that this hotel is conveniently located, but that isn’t the only perk.
The Pine Lodge Whitefish River
I admittedly checked into this hotel after a morning of Rock Climbing, so the rest I got here could have been because the bed was so comfortable, or because I was extremely tired.
Either way, I think you’ll enjoy the spacious rooms and comfy beds.
I was lucky enough to have a room with not only a sitting area with a loveseat and coffee table, but I also had a desk as well. I enjoy having separate areas so that my bed isn’t the only place I have to sit and I can get in the habit of working in one space while relaxing or lounging in another.
Because there was a mixup with my check in, I believe I was eventually given a room with a balcony, which more than made up for being assigned two incorrect rooms prior.
I loved being able to walk out and see the pool and jacuzzi from the balcony, but the real sight was of Whitefish River. Like many people, I love being around water and those views are always an added bonus.
My favorite part of the bathroom had to have been the vanity mirror. The light that outlined the mirror was perfect for getting ready even though I didn’t need to apply makeup during my stay.
I also appreciate the white lights versus fluorescent lighting that some hotels still utilize.
As you can see in the shower photo, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner were supplied in full sized pump bottles. Like Kandahar Lodge, The Pine Lodge is taking a step in the right direction by eliminating the small, travel sized products that only add to our growing landfills full of plastic.
Amenities Seal the Deal
I think the best thing about the Pine Lodge happens to be their many amenities. From the delicious hot breakfast served daily in the lobby to the freshly baked cookies and s’mores, I believe this hotel sets out to give you an experience to remember.

- Watercraft Rentals (kayaks, paddleboards, and pedal boats)
- Bike Rentals
- Game Room
- Complimentary Shuttle (to Downtown or Whitefish Mountain Resort)
- Indoor AND Outdoor Pool
These are just some of my favorite amenities and I’m gutted that I didn’t get to indulge in more of them. It was lovely coming back after a long day to s’mores that I could then go out to the fire pit and make myself. And I don’t even like s’mores!
I truly believe that the amenities set this hotel apart from many others in the area, and for that reason alone, you should try them out.
