Hotel Villa Madame – Paris

I’d only stayed at three hotels in Paris before my stay at Hotel Villa Madame. From those stays I’d assumed that Parisian hotels tend to me cozy (read: tiny) and quaint. So imagine my surprise when I walked into my room and, if I didn’t have self control, could’ve done a few cartwheels to the across the room. After two months of traveling, this hotel was my own version of self care.

Hotel Villa Madame is a 4 star hotel located in the 6th arrondissement of Paris and just minutes from the Luxembourg Gardens. Because I walk everywhere, I tend to judge places on how close they are to landmarks on foot. On my first day of checking in and indulging in the yummy snack mix and an in room espresso to keep me awake, I set off toward the Eiffel Tower. It had only been a few weeks since I was last in Paris and I needed to see that beauty again. This hotel is also in walking distance to several cafe’s, restaurants, and a great area for shopping as well.

Once I returned to my room that evening I took a long soak in the gorgeous bathtub that was calling my name. This was my first bath in over a year and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity once I saw this particular amenity. The Hermes bath and body toiletries were an amazing touch and once my bath was done, I took a shower just to enjoy the essential oils capsules available. It was the pampering session I didn’t know I needed and I’m convinced it put me right to sleep.

On my second day at the hotel I pulled myself out of bed to take advantage of what sounded like a yummy breakfast. Spoiler alert: it was delicious. Guests have the opportunity to have a continental, in-room breakfast, or to head downstairs and enjoy additional options such as bacon and eggs. It’s safe to say that the bacon called and I answered. The fresh bread and yummy Earl Grey tea were the icing on the cake. I had to stop myself from a carb overload. I’m going to admit to buttering my already perfect croissant and you’re going to refrain from judging me. I was either starving or everything was truly delicious.

Because this day was a rainy one, I didn’t get to enjoy the outdoor seating areas like I planned, so I took advantage of lounging in my room. When I wasn’t enjoying a book I’ve been trying to finish, I was literally standing at the window people watching those passing by and enjoying the traditional Parisian architecture that I don’t usually get to enjoy from my room.

My stay at Hotel Villa Madame was more than I could have imagined and a great way to spend more time in my favorite city on earth. I would without a doubt stay here again and believe it’s a great place to spend your time whether you’re in the city for a couple days or an entire week.
